Outi Tarkiainen's Obsession II for flute and piano (2013) is based on Charles Baudelaire's poem Obsession from the anthology Flowers of Evil. The work was composed in parallel with a song for soprano and piano bearing the same title. In the instrumental version, the original poem is present only implicitly, yet certain words and syllables can still be heard on the musical surface.
