Waiting for Spring is a title that suite a Finnish composition quite well - during the long harsh winter we long for the sunny days of spring. Timo Forsström was at the time of writing the work a young horn player at the Helsinki Guards Band. It is a romantic, yet modern piece for the fluegelhorn and
band. Though not demanding technically, it as a good, rich sound and an impressive solo part for every flugelhorn player.

Since then Timo Forsström has become a household name in the band circles. He is, in fact, the most performed band composer in Finland, at the time of this digital re-issue (2023). Forsström's works are a corner stone of every band's repertoire.

The work was originally published in the band series of Edition Elvis, the publishing trademark of the Finnish Guild of Popular Music Composers and Authors. The catalogue was transferred to Fennica Gehrman in 2020, who continue to make old titles available and adds new original works and transcriptions to the series in the original spirit of Edition Elvis.
