This motet sets portions of a sequence tet in honor of the Virgin Mary, whose plainchant melody frequently serves as the melodic basis for Mouton's composition, appearing in the soprano and tenor 1 parts. The work is in two sections, the first of which introduces a new musical motif for each line of the poetic text. The secunda pars continues this approach but also contrasts it with three statements of a homophonic, triple-meter refrain.
