The 32 pieces of Colourstrings Violin duos volume 3 by László Rossa concentrate on all the finger patterns of the left hand in the first position, making the newly learned finger pattern musically valuable, artistically enjoyable chamber music. Each duo is based on a folk song, and concentrates on one pedagogical subject, for example natural (basic) finger pattern (2nd and 3rd fingers closed together) or flattened first finger.
The pupil plays the first violin which part contains the new finger pattern. The more demanding second violin part should be played by the teacher or more advanced student.
These duos can be fully utilized also without any previous use or knowledge about the Colourstrings method, also in group teaching and as performance material.
