Julvers, a poem written by Pekka Suhonen at the Villa Lante in Rome on Christmas Eve 1992, inspired Kai Nieminen to compose a piece of the same name describing the city's myriad lights as seen from the windows of the Villa high on its hill. As the trees tossed in the wind, they set countless lights twinkling here and there. These moods and reflections give the work an electric charge. Julvers was composed as a commission for the 60th anniversary of the Villa Lante. (Erkki Palola)

Runoilija Pekka Suhosen Villa Lantessa 24.12.1992 kirjoittama runo Julvers oli innoittajana Kai Niemisen samannimiselle sävellykselle. Nieminen kuvaili miten öisen Rooman lukemattomat valot näkyvät korkealle Villa Lanten ikkunoihin. Puiden heiluessa tuulessa syntyi lukuisia vilkkuvia valoja, jotka vaihtoivat paikkaa. Nämä tunnelmat ja heijastukset luovat teokseen sähköisyyttä. Julvers oli Villa Lanten 60-vuotisjuhlien tilausteos. (Erkki Palola)
