Heininen has adapted two episodes sung by the Publisher in his opera "The Knife" into a short song cycle. After introducing the poet ("that young man who smells of too much spring") the Publisher asks his army of poets to unveil "their most astounding visions"; the matinée develops into a stormy affair, and he tries to restore dignity with uplifting words.
