Kimmo Hakola (b. 1958) composed the Kivi Songs in Paris in spring 2007. “Distance and pining for home conjured forth from the poems timeless echoes of the primitive folk singer. It was as if the poems had the seeds of melodies hidden deep in ageless recesses, and one only had to be patient and wait.”
