Queen Bee is a solo work for bass tuba or contrabass tuba. It is a continuation of Jennah Vainio's quest to write a solo piece for each of the symphony orchestra's instruments.
The piece starts with a melodic phrase, which is followed by and intersected with, a groove in varying time signatures. In the end the melody line re-emerges to reign supreme.
