With the quintet for flute, violin, 2 violas and violoncello (2000) Kalevi Aho (b. 1949) completed his cycle of quintets for all the woodwind instruments of the symphony orchestra accompanied by string quartet. This quintet was commissioned by Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival.
