Harri Wessman (b. 1949) composed a nine-part song cycle for mezzo-soprano and piano to poems by Pentti Saaritsa (1941-2024) in 1995. The title of the cycle "Vanhenemisen seikkailu" (Adventure of getting old) comes from the seventh movement. The last movement "Halusin nähdä musiikin" (I wanted to see the music") was written by the poet to the notebook of the composer during an inspiring conversation in spring 1994.
